School is here!

Well, in August Mike packed up the kids and drove them down to Utah. Jordan and Taylor started school at UVSC and are roommates with Jordan's friends Joel Mitchell and Jaron Lampbrecht. They're living "the dream" as they like to call it and are having a great time. When not in school, Jordan works as a Goldsmith's apprentice at the Jeweler's Bench and Taylor has a job at the Gap. Since Mike had to drive the boys and all their stuff down, he and Kendal and Derrek attended Education Week at BYU. Hey, might as well! It was a tight fit in the van, but they made it! (yes, Taylor is in the van, he's just behind the containers and pillows!)

September 4th, Kendal started her Senior year and hit the ground running! She's loving school.

As for Derrek, he started school at the end of September. He lives on campus at the University of Washington and is majoring in Microbiology with a minor in Spanish. Believe it or not his hardest class right now is Spanish. Because he has an online friend who lives in Mexico and Derrek stayed with him this past summer, Derrek tested really high, so they put him in the class that most college Juniors take. With that being said, it's a lot more work!

It's so weird having three college freshmen and a near empty house. It definitely has it's good points, less dishes, laundry and mess in general. The downside, I miss them terribly!

Almost empty nesters? Holy shmoly's! Whatever will you & Mike do with yourselves? Oh... I know, I know... you could make your house into 'the Mantzke house of LOVE' if you know what I mean (;

So I'm a little emotional right now and I just about started crying! I'm sad your kids are just about all gone! I know it's a part of life, but still. I guess I am just thinking of what it's going to be like for me in another 14 or so years and it makes me sad. Anyways, ignore me. I'm just being emotional. But good for your kids. They are doing so well and your house is just so darn cute! I love you-Em
