Happy Valentine's Day

This weekend has been great and full of surprises! After working all week and still broke, I was on my way home and feeling sorry for myself. It was Friday and I was missing my kids (mainly Kendal) and was in the mood for some girl fun so I called Paige. (Kendal's best friend) and as we were talking, she decided to come over. It was awesome and just what I needed!!! We watched Mama Mia!, and decorated for my Valentine party that I was having for my Primary class the next day. It was great! Then Mike walks in and says "Beth, you better get ready because we're catching the 6:50 ferry and you need to wear something sexy"! Paige wanted to help me pick out an outfit and accessories, so she did. It was so much fun having her over. She left and I finish getting ready. Mike and I had so much fun together and he tells me that since this year we will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary, we should celebrate all year, starting today!!!

It was so romantic!
The next day was my Primary party at my house. The kids had a great time making cupcakes for their families. As I was dropping the kids off, I told them I would be stopping at Rebekah Fry's house to drop off treats for her and her family too. Rebekah was just diagnosed with a rare, aggressive form of Leukemia and was able to leave the hospital for a few days. Some of my kids wanted to come too, so we went over together. It was so great seeing Rebekah! She loved her Valentine goodies too.
It was a wonderful day!

Super Bowl Party 2009

The fateful final play by Antonio Holmes

Our dwindling bounty

Stunned Anti-Steelers fans

Yes it's true, our family LOVES the superbowl! It goes against what we normally do on Sundays and that's to observe the Sabbath Day. We still attend church, but as soon as we're home, it's "LET the party begin!" We had Derrek, his college roommate Brian, my brother Christian, Mike and myself cheering on the Arizona Cardinals. It was a great game and felt robbed by some of the calls, but the Cardinal's made some stupid errors too ultimately leading to the Steelers winning in the last 2 minutes of the game. Thankfully, I made some yummy food which eased our pain a little; teriyaki meatballs with pineapple and steamed rice, a chocolate fountain with fruit, pretzles and marshmallows, and loads of chips and soda. It was a fun afternoon!
