Homecoming Dance

Since EFY was the same weekend as the Homecoming Dance and Kendal was going with her girlfriends, they went to EFY and then showed up at the Homecoming Dance later. Kendal had a blast and got to ride in a Limo! She had a great evening and of course, looked so pretty!

Friday Night Lights

The Homecoming game was tonight and what a crazy night it was! The weather was horrible. The Homecoming Court was to be driven around the football field by the Corvette Convertible club. Luckily, just as half time started, the rain stopped and the Corvette tops came down. It was perfect! Then just as quickly as the rain stopped, as half time ended, the rain started up again. Crazy! The rain poured down the rest of the night!

Sadly,
the Senior float was completely destroyed by the wind and rain!

Homecoming Coronation!

When I was in Illinois, Kendal called me and told me that she had been voted on to Homecoming court!!!! How exciting! Coronation was this last Thursday and there, the Homecoming King and Queen were selected. Since I had to work right up to when Coronation started, I hired two friends to do Kendal's hair and makeup. They did an awesome job!

Kendal was escorted by her friend Zach Dudoit
who also made top 10.

The cool thing was, Kendal's close friend Krystle Membrere was crowned Homecoming Queen and Billy Richardson was made Homecoming King.

It was a lot of fun for Kendal and a proud moment for her parents!
But we always knew she was a princess!

Happy Birthday to me!

My birthday started off with a beautiful sunrise!

I left for work early and at noon the doorbell rang. I answered it and Mike and Kendal popped out and yelled "Happy Birthday!" They brought me roses, cards, lunch and a birthday cake!!!

What a nice surprise!!!!

After work I went straight to Kendal's Volleyball match, which was fun to watch!

Afterwards, we were all starving and since Derrek came from the UW to surprise me for my birthday, we went to Shari's to enjoy food that everyone would eat. (yes, my children are still picky eaters!) It was a lot of fun and Derrek and Kendal had fun being their goofy selves!!!

These two are so close, they even make their goofy faces the same!!!

When I got home, there were cards and messages on the answering machine from my family wishing me a Happy Birthday too. It was a wonderful day!

September

September brought a visit from my sisters Allison and Emily, which was a blast! We went to Bumpershoot and saw Anberlin, which rocked and Sean Paul and Fergie taught me how to spell.

It was very fun! Spending time with my sisters is always fun!

Then at the end of September, the unthinkable happened, my brother Christian who is only 39 had a stroke and had to have emergency brain surgery to remove the blood clots that had formed on his brain stem. Jamie and I flew out to Illinois and stayed with my sister Allison for a week so we could be there with our family. Christian is doing better, but is having a difficult time with fine motor skills, walking and sitting up for any length of time. The daily vomitting hasn't stopped and is trying to be controlled with medication. Though it's been difficult, we have seen the Lord's hand in my brother's illness and recovery. He's been spared from what could have been fatal and for that we are all so very grateful. Since Chritian is a crazy Seahawks fan we decorated his room in a Seahawks motiff! Here Jamie is presenting him with an official Shaun Alexander jersey. Christian LOVED it!!!! Get better soon bro!!!

Since I got to stay with Allison, that meant quality time with Max and Mallory! It was SWEET! They've grown up so much and their personalities are adorable! Even though the reason I flew out was distressing, it made me realize that I had been a stranger far too long! And it was all because of money! Well not anymore! My family means the world to me, always has and from here on out I will be flying out more to see them!

too cute!!!!

School is here!

Well, in August Mike packed up the kids and drove them down to Utah. Jordan and Taylor started school at UVSC and are roommates with Jordan's friends Joel Mitchell and Jaron Lampbrecht. They're living "the dream" as they like to call it and are having a great time. When not in school, Jordan works as a Goldsmith's apprentice at the Jeweler's Bench and Taylor has a job at the Gap. Since Mike had to drive the boys and all their stuff down, he and Kendal and Derrek attended Education Week at BYU. Hey, might as well! It was a tight fit in the van, but they made it! (yes, Taylor is in the van, he's just behind the containers and pillows!)

September 4th, Kendal started her Senior year and hit the ground running! She's loving school.

As for Derrek, he started school at the end of September. He lives on campus at the University of Washington and is majoring in Microbiology with a minor in Spanish. Believe it or not his hardest class right now is Spanish. Because he has an online friend who lives in Mexico and Derrek stayed with him this past summer, Derrek tested really high, so they put him in the class that most college Juniors take. With that being said, it's a lot more work!

It's so weird having three college freshmen and a near empty house. It definitely has it's good points, less dishes, laundry and mess in general. The downside, I miss them terribly!

Our Missionary Son Returns!

Impatiently waiting for Jordan! We thought we were so smart waiting for him here. Come to find out, we were in the wrong spot! After a while we figured it out, split up and made a frantic, mad sweep of the airport looking for him.

After spreading out and searching what seemed an eternity, Kendal was the first to spot her brother. We heard her yelling Jordan's name which got our attention and we all started running towards him. It was so cute watching Grandma Weber running across the airport to get to him! I will always remember that image of her.

Ah, our son is home at last! We caught the ferry back home so we could relax and catch up.

Derrek had a mandatory meeting at the UW which got out in the nick of time. He ran from the bus stop all the way to the Ferry and barely made it! Thank goodness it was running late, because it seldom runs late. It worked out perfectly and we feel the Lord had a hand in the timing of things that day.

A couple of posers doing the Pogi Pose!

This says it all.
Because of Grandma and Grandpa's
sacrifice, this was all
made possible.
I know Grandpa was proud as
we welcomed home their first
missionary Grandson!
July 19th will be a day that
we will never forget!
