Happy Birthday to You

We had a Happy Eighteenth Birthday Party for Kendal at Evergreen Park and had a blast!!!!

So many of Kendal's friends came, which was nice. What impressed me the most was that Kendal has no cliques so kids from all different groups came and everyone was so accepting of everyone. I'm so grateful for the education Kendal received and for the many opportunities she's had to be friends with people from all different walks of life. I know it's made her a better person because of it.

The weather was just right for water balloons, squirt gun fights, volleyball and jumping in the water!

We also had a seperate birthday party for her and her Grandpa George.
It's a tradition for those two to celebrate their birthdays together! Happy Birthday!!!

Our last child has GRADUATED *sniff*

(Below is the write up that went along with her announcement)

Kendal’s four years at Bremerton High school have been filled with academic excellence. She was the March Extra Curricular Student of the Month and selected as a Bremerton Chamber of Commerce notable student. Kendal was “Knighted” at Bremerton High School. This honor goes to the top ten seniors out of the 320 in her class for outstanding community service, academics, school leadership and athletics.
This past year, Kendal was on the Homecoming Court, voted ASB Inter-high Representative, Key Club Vice President and Leo Club Treasurer. Kendal also worked alongside Kiwanis Club and Lions Club serving the community where she found volunteering the most rewarding.
Outside of academics, Kendal was an outstanding athlete for BHS, receiving Coaches’ Awards and lettering for both the Volleyball and Tennis teams. Kendal was also a part of Chamber Choir for four years and raised money with them to compete in Disneyland over the spring break. Kendal also received her Young Women’s Medallion for church.
Kendal plans to attend Washington State University working towards getting her degree in Nursing with a minor in Spanish.

Senior Prom

Here's some pictures of their prom, A "Knight" at the Museum.

Kendal's senior prom was tonight at the Tacoma Art Museum. She went with (pronounced) Ahn Ho, who moved here from Vietnam a year ago. They became friends at the beginning of the school year playing tennis for the high school. They had a great time taking pictures, eating and dancing with their group of friends. They all looked so beautiful and handsome! An designed Kendal's corsage from white lilys, gold wire and teal ribbon. It was so neat and it looked like a work of art! Kendal went to the same florist An had gone to and asked them to create a boutonniere to match her corsage.
It turned out perfect.

Kendal was Knighted!!!!

Today was a proud day for the Mantzke family as our youngest, Kendal, was Knighted!!!!

We were happily surprised as she was one of the ten chosen out of the 32 that were nominated.

The 32 nominees were chosen by the other seniors, teachers and administration, out of the 320 seniors in the class. We were thrilled! As each student was chosen, they read a little summary of their accomplishments. My proudest moment was when the Master of Ceremonies read about Kendal receiving her Young Women's medallion, the work she put towards receiving it and how it was compared to earning the Eagle Scout award! Though all of Kendal's accomplishments were definitely noteworthy, receiving her medallion really says a lot about who she is. A Young Woman who stands for truth and righteousness! Congratulations Sweetheart!
